CMC ‘08

Today was my first day of CMC   I’ve got a t-shirt to prove it.  Maybe I’ll post a photo if I get a chance to get the camera out.  (It’s a big fucking deal now because all we have is the video camera -_-.)

For my primary piece, I’m playing with two boys:

Eric, the cellist.  He’s going to college in August :O  He’s the only kid who’s older than me at the camp.  I didn’t know you could go back the summer before college… *ponders going back next year*  He’s a cool person.  He’s definitely going to be one of my CMC buddies this year

Jay, the pianist.  He’s a sophomore… Ehhh.  He’s really quiet : /  Not quiet like me.  I’m quiet in such a way that I don’t say much unless prompted.  He’s quiet in that he doesn’t really respond to social cues.  At first I thought he was mean or something because when I tried to start a conversation, he just kind of gave an answer and looked away.  He always has this freaky look on his face, too.  I don’t think he’s mean, though.  He could be chronically shy, or he could have had some sort of bad experience with people.  But I don’t know.  I hope he opens up :p  I want to be friends with him!  He sat all alone at lunch today   I was afraid to go over to him because he was reading and sometimes people just want to be alone.

In my secondary piece, I’m playing with;

Eric, who I already talked about.

Alicia, the 2nd violinist.  (HAHA, I’M FIRST VIOLIN. )  She’s a really outgoing person.  She and Eric know each other from church and from last year.  They frequently pick on each other.  It’s hysterical.

and Sara, the violist, who actually didn’t show up today because, APPARENTLY, she’s on vacation.  That kind of ticks me off.  This happened to me last year.  Our cellist, Francis, was in Vermont for like, the first two days of camp.  I’m hoping Sara is more awesome than him, though :p

So Kelli came to fill in for her.  She’s actually an intern.  (Even though she’s younger than me.  Frickin’ sophomore.)  Haha, she’s actually really sweet and MAD AWESOME at sight reading.  She was a little overwhelmed by our loudness during our secondary rehearsal xD

The only other person I’ve really hung out with is Carly.  She and I actually go to school together.  We’re stand partners in orchestra sometimes.  She gives me rides to and from camp because my mom goes to school, and my dad goes to work.  I think she, Alicia, and Eric are my new CMC buddies.  Yay
